I had card-problems only once, and that was with A-DATA.......

Try a real card, Sandisk for instance.

And why copy pictures back to the card after you manipulated them; that could cause problems obviously............

I have experienced this particular error a few times with separate memory cards (1 was a Target bought Kingston, the other an Ebay Sandisk Extreme 3 that turned out to be fake).

The common link with all occurrences was that it happened immediately after I took the memory card out of the camera and used the SDHC card reader built into my wifes laptop (Acer Aspire One). The photos / videos were viewable from the laptop no worries, but upon placing the card back into the camera I would get 'memory card error' if the card was empty and / or corrupted images when it was not.

Since then I have only used the USB cable directly to the Kx to retrieve files.

I think the Kx software is just a bit sensitive to the format of the memory card. I suspect that when putting the card in the laptop some system file or heirarchy is modified.
