As I said, they wrote their own software to look at the data itself. These people do know exactly what they doing.

Sure it is, as far as the actual data is concerned. It's exactly the same image data. but FWIW, these same people have also analyzed the contents of PEF and DNG files to determine *exactly* what additional information is in one versus the other (and it does cut both ways).

You mean, you can turn off the NR that DCU performs. You cannot turn off the NR already baked into the RAW data. This is what the people I mention have proven by analzying the data itself, not just performing experiments using programs written by other people. Unless you have written your own sotware to analyze the data and have somehow come to a different conclusion, you basically cannot possibly refute their findings. They have looked at the data itself; the rest of us have not.

There is indeed a full resolution JPEG in each PEF file.
