Focus confirmation question

On my *istD, once I upgraded to the Katzeye focusing screen, focus confirmation didn't work any more, but that didn't bother me to much, as my results improved just because of the split screen. Just wondering if the K7 has similar results, or will the focus confirmation still work with a split screen.

Are you sure? Make sure you've got your camera set to AF. The confirmation should still work, as it's independent of the focusing screen.

But it's possible and even somewhat likely that the screen and the confirmation no longer agree. Some shimming may be required. That said, Confirmation works on the K7 regardless of focus mode. Can't answer the part about the K7 with a split screen but it shouldn't be any different than any of the other cameras.

I guess maybe I missed the key point. AF won't do, as I'm using all manual lenses. (taks)

I have the Katzeye split-screen on my K10D and the focus confirmation works even with a manual focus lens.

I've encountered opposite problem on K10D. Since installing Katzeye, i noticed I have my focus confirmed, but split screen shows it slightly out of focus. Strange is that my focus confirmation is usually more precise than split screen. Maybe the Katzeye focusing screen is misaligned? Or I need to visit eye doctor...

More likely you have a Front or Back focusing problem, requiring shimming activity.
