shutter actuations on an *ist DS

How do I tell how many photos have been taken with an *ist DS? For that matter, if anybody could also tell me how to do this for my K10D and K20D, that would be cool, too. But I am particularly interested in the instructions for the *ist DS. THANKS.

Will

I use an exif data viewer

KUSO Exif Viewer

it was a free download, and you can see all the data about your camera including serial number of the electronics etc.

Download PhotoMe. It will tell you the shutter count when you load a picture in it. It will be the shutter count for that particular picture, so use the latest one you have.

Love PhotoME, it will give you more information than you knew was available but if you want to check the shutter count "on the fly" you can upload a photo to this site and it will give you the information:

Check shutter count online - My Shutter Count.com

Lowell, please don't go to any trouble. I'll download PhotoMe (which I have had installed previously and apparently uninstalled for some reason) and see what it says there.

Thanks,

Will

will No effort, i just was not at my computer when I responded last night.

Frame number is shutter count. On my *istD it is about 250 activations ahead of the picture number

On the K10D it is shutter count, same as on the K7D
