K-x LiveView: Is there a way to keep the mirror up?

In LiveView, when you shutter the camera, the mirror goes down and up, TWICE.

I think it's ridiculous and redundant. Can't it just keep the mirror up all the time during LiveView? Like what it does in Movie mode.

Unfortunately, the shutter is apparently linked to the mirror, unlike the K-7(?). Just more reason to use the much faster phase detect for focusing, as it flips the mirror the same number of times.

Interesting - I never used LiveView on the K-x to notice this difference.

I can confirm that the K-7 doesn't fumble with the mirror: there's just a silent swish-swish, but the mirror isn't heard.
