Changing setting via Fn button

Hello,

I am trying to make my new 360FGZ a slave, using my pop up as the controller. When I press Fn and try to select the wireless function, it is greyed out and thus unselectable. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I am using a K20D.

THANKS

I figured it out. You can't use manual lenses. I read in the manual where the aperature can't be set to A, so I put on one of my DA lenses, and voila, all is good. Thanks Ken T for helping me out. Greg

It's strange . As I'm having my K20D in my hand right now, I put in M mode, turn it on, push Fn and the wireless flash function is there, not grayed out, even with the flash on the the hot shoe or not, flash on or off, the function is there .

You may want to remove and insert the battery to see if it come back normal .

PS. Just saw your post . Glad you've solved the problem .

I believe that the first time you use the flash with the camera you must mount it on the camera to set the channel. For my AF 540 FGZ, the instructions read:
  1. Turn the camera off and then attach the AF 540FGZ to the camera.
  2. Set the power switch of the flash unit to [WIRELESS]
  3. Press the wireless mode button ... to display SLAVE on the LCD panel
  4. Slide down the setting switch to the (yellow dot) to display the channel on the LCD panel
  5. Press the channel [CH] button and select a channel from 1CH to 4CH
  6. Slide the setting switch back up to the (white dot).
  7. When you turn the camera on and press the shutter release button halfway down, the channel is registered on the camera.
  8. Remove the flash unit form the camera and place it in the desired position.
  9. Press the flash mode button (MODE) to display (P-TTL).
  10. Enable the built-in flash unit of the camera and display (W)(WIRELESS) on the LCD panel.
