Focus Points and Accuracy

Does anybody know if the center focus point is more accurate than the other selective points? I have a third-party lens that will not focus properly with the outer selective points on my k20d. Some of my Pentax lenses also just do not seem as sharp with the outer focus points.

I cannot comment on accuracy, but I know for a fact that many Pentaxians (incl. mysefl) prefer to use the center focus point.

I like to focus on one object and centre focus is the best way (for me) to get the best shots.

Accuracy per se shouldn't be an issue, but the different sensors are of different types and may also have different ranges. have you indicidually checked the range of each sensor, to see how far from the red indicator it can potentially choose to focus?

I tried switching from 11 point to center today, didn't notice a major difference, but I'm new to my K-x and digital SLR and don't have much to compare to...I'm thinking I'll try center point for a few days then 11 point then 5 point, see what works for me. I shoot a lot of macro, so it may make a difference. 6 inches from a small insect gave me fits with a P&S Samsung, working center point or multi, both had the problem of focusing on the background, rather than the subject, cost me some good shots. So far no problems with that from the K-x.
