It's a....K100D! Yay my new camera is here!

Well it took awhile, lots of research and my poor piggy bank is looking rather emaciated but I finally got my new camera! Thanks to all those who answered my never ending barrage of questions some months back who ultimately assisted in my decision of the K100D for my first dslr. It's been only 4 days, but I'm very satisfied with the camera so far. Big change from my old SuperProgram, needless to say.

For her maiden voyage I took her to shoot some fireworks at the Celebration of Light at English Bay in Vancouver. I was pretty happy with the results since I've never shot fireworks with a digital before and considering it was our first day together. (When I figure out how to upload the pics, I'll post some-critiques welcomed please!)

Although hopelessly lost on on much of the "digital" jargon, I'm looking forward to learning a lot! Thanks to everyone who makes this a great place to share and learn!

Good choice. I'm very happy with my K100D and I'm sure you will be happy with yours. What lenses did you get with it?

I got it with the two kit lenses, the 17-55mm and the 50-200mm. I have a few old prime lenses from my film camera that I have yet to try with it. I loaded a few of my fireworks pics in case anyone would like to comment.

I'm going to try to link the gallery photo to see if this works for me...sigh, newbies eh? haha

If you want to show it in your post put image tags around it .

So put "[IMG]"http://....etc"[/IMG]" but without any of the "

Good luck with the cam.

The K100D is a great choice. It is a large change from the Super Program. You will love it. Have fun and take lots of images.

A K100D is my first DSLR and I have the same two kit lenses. I'm very happy with my choice as well. Your fireworks photos look very good, are you sure you haven't practiced before?
