Great to see it's holding strong. I had it once with my K-7 and the DA*55mm lens in a bar where a glas of beer (guinness so that's a real waste of good beer) running over my camera. People in shock, but I just put it in a little shower behind the bar and again good to go. I love my K-7 for that, because if I bought some other brand I just had to buy a new camera.

Sealed! Tested! Approved!

We just had a real nasty thunderstorm roll through. I was able to get some wall cloud shots in before it was too late... then for the heck of it a few videos IN the storm. Then as always lovely colors after the storm!

The clip is just a moment, but the camera and myself were soaked for 10-15 mins while I was taking shots.

Sometimes I wonder if the golden goose-feather filled pillow I put it on at night is enough to keep it safe...
I think the QC issues have mostly been resolved, so long as you get new stock (And with as fast as this lens sells out online, that shouldn't be hard).

Thanks! The camera and I were thoroughly soaked! I don't think I have been in that face pounding rain before.

Hah! Yeah it was, but I had zero doubts the K-7 could take it!

Nice shot.
That would make for a great advertisement picture, "Tough as Humvee".

Cheers, Mike.

I was saving my pennies for a K-X but this thread just convinced me I need to save a little longer and get me one of these. Wow, just wow. One question though? All that cleaning with water, would fungus be an issue or is the weatherproofing more than enough to counteract that? Just wondering. I mean clearly you can wash it, but will it turn green later?

I would wipe it off with something like an MSR Packtowel and just let it air dry some to prevent fungus. At least here in Afghanistan the humidity drops as soon as a thunderstorm passes. No issues standing out in some heavy rain whatsoever with my K-7 and it washed the dust off pretty good. I was worried about the Canon though taking the above picture!!

That picture is the exact reason why I got the K7, thank you so much for posting it.

now I'm even more excited for it to come in the mail, and then for winter to come.
