I've used the
Pentax O-ICK1 sensor clean kit a number of times on both my K100DS & K20D. I've got spots on the sensor from changing lenses in very light rain or salt spray.
The thing is you touch & lift the gum end (a bit like fancy eraser rubber) of the applicator to the sensor and then touch it down on a discardable pad of sticky sheets to transfer the dust. No wiping across the sensor surface, so no worries about scratching.
