Celebrating the one year K-7 Anniversary -- Photos and Shutter Counts!

With all the talk about new cameras (I'm guilty of this, as well) it's easy to forget that the K-7 was just released one year ago. It was announced in May and released in July if I'm not mistaken? I thought now would be a good time to declare the anniversary of its arrival on the scene.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon when it was first announced, and even though people are paying half as much now for their K-7s I have not regretted my decision for a moment. The K-7 is a solid, in some ways spectacular, camera and is the first body I have owned where I have resolved to keep it until I wear it out (unless something unforeseen happens)

In honor of this anniversary, I thought it would be fun to post our current K-7 shutter actuation number, along with some photos from the K-7 taken over the year.

My shutter count (as of last night): 15,503

My first test photo with the K-7:

Ho, ho, ho. It's Christmas in July

heck, I just got mine unwrapped; the actuation count is only 248 (initial) and the image count 0170 brand new. I probably reach about the same as yours or may be more this time next year.

Funny though, the manufacture date is: 2009 06 09.

Looks as if I bought my K-7 on the one year anniversary. I'll be getting it Monday.

I just passed the 6000 mark on my K7. It really does feel like a perfect camera for me. I know it has its flaws, but just the shooting experience is awfully satisfying.

I just passed my 6 month anniversary. I'm not really interested in "shutter counts", much more interesting to me is "keeper ratio", which for me has soared with this camera. It's got to do with lots of things - the size and build quality make it inspiring to use, the control layout is excellent, and most importantly (for me) the veiwfinder is EXCELLENT for manual focusing, which is the way I shoot. I find it a real joy to use, especially with the DA35 lens. It's a great package.

The winter shot (river bank) was my first week with the camera, and the last one (car hood scoop) is one of my most recent.

I've had mine for about 8 months, and current shutter count is about 11600. I've quite enjoyed the K-7 over the last 8 months

Had mine about a week .. had 350 on the clock when I got it and have only done about 100 more .. mainly checking focus of lens, playing with liveview and trying fps.

I rather like the idea of doing macro using ISO 1600 without flash as well.
