fingerprint looking like stamp on viewfinder?

As the title says, I notice when i look into my viewfinder, a fine fingerprint type outline appears. this does not show up in my pictures and it remains when i change lenses so it has to be on the viewfinder.

Any ideas what that could be?

Ps. and yes, i've cleaned the viewfinder too and it's still there

Maybe it's on the mirror? Turn off camera, remove lens, look on mirror inside.

I think it's a microprism pattern. Aniway, it goes away with faster lens. Nothing to worry about.

G'Day Keebler,
Don't worry about it, I took my DS (when new) back to my retailer with the same issue. He very calmy unpacked another, attached a lens and handed it to me to look through.....sure enough there was the same 'fingerprint' type impression . Very patient man. Of course I thanked him for his patience and crawled out of the store.
Experiment for your self, you will find if you change the angle of view through the view finder that 'it' will become more or less pronounced.
It does not impact on your photos in any way.
