*istD question

Ive got a family gathering in a couple of weeks. Our current point & shoot is a piece of crap, and I was thinking of letting the wife & kids use my old *istD for the weekend. Just wondering what mode would be the best, so all they have to worry about is zooming, and hitting the shutter button. Basically make it work almost as easy as a P&S. Wife always gets frustrated watching me play with all the dials, buttons, etc, so I want it as easy as possible, but still get better pics than the old P&S.

Set it to Green mode (aka Auto Pict), make sure you've got an AF lenses mounted (hopefully you have one?), and it's as much a P&S as any other camera.

If you don't have an AF lens (I don't see one listed in your sig) then I predict a next to zero chance that they'll get better pictures than the P&S.

I've actually got 2 auto focus lenses. I just have them listed, as I never use them. A 28-80 & a 70-210. Thanks for the info.
