Wireless flash trigger option for K7 help

Hello fellow Pentaxian,

Im basically new with my Pentax K7. I was wondering what are the options for wireless flash trigger that can be use for K7? Any link to it would be great.

Its really great, You can use it in off-camera flash and the extra mount on top can be a fill light
A must buy.

Anybody else tried this? Looks pretty neat for 20 bucks. Only a 10-foot range, but again, it's 20 bucks.

I use this one. It is a flash remote trigger, and also an RF shutter release control.

I use it as an RF shutter release control more than as a remove flash trigger.

If you have P-TTL compatible flash, you don't need any extra equipment; you can use the K-7 pop up flash to trigger it wirelessly and with P-TTL metering too.

The YN602's in Soldbear's post don't sync up to 1/180...only 1/125, at least the Canon compatible ones I tried. The Nikon ones might work..

I noticed that's the same brand as the ebay one referenced. Are those transmitters P-TTL compatible?

No.
There is no P-TTL compatible transmitter available.
Only Canon (and soon Nikon) systems exist.

Crap. Should have known there'd be a fly in the ointment. Guess I'll stick to my corded arrangement. I have a Metz flash, so the on-board, strobe-based trigger isn't as good for me as for others. Still not too bad for 20 bucks, though.

what type of flash unit can the YN-04 II trigger? looks good though for 20 bucks

Its a wireless flash trigger, Its 10Meters, 30feet. Not 10 Feet. Our Chinese friends got mixed up. Any flash you can mount, I have an old Vivitar of the film days. Any flash really. It works.

The YN-04 (II) can trigger "anyhing" - As long as the trigger voltage is below 12V.
That rules out old flashes, and new, cheap, chinese ones.

(When upgrading to the 602's I learned that the hard way.)

I had these before upgrading, and they had no issues with high voltage (the only issue they didn't have.......)

Also doubt you'd be willing to pay for P-TTL compatible triggers.

The Canikon equivalents are the Radiopopper PX and Pocket Wizard ControlTL systems. They cost $250-300 per piece (trigger or receiver), on top of the $200-300 P-TTL flash you'd have to buy...

Well, you're right, that would be a deal-breaker, though the Metz flash I already have is P-TTL.
