Likelihood of EVIL Pentax @ Photokina?

Just wondering what you all think is the likelihood of Pentax Jumping on the EVIL bandwagon? Also, how do you think they'll do?

!!![EDIT] I was meant to say 49% not 54%!!!

I voted "0%." While I think Pentax will eventually get into the mirrorless game, I don't think they'll be ready by Photokina. Of course, I'd be delighted to be wrong.

Until electronic viewfinders become anything but evil, I hope that Pentax has the good sense to stick with what works.

Pentax would need a new series of lenses for a mirrorless camera that is as thin as the m3/4 cameras. The K-mount lenses would need the sensor the same distance away as in the dslr, this would defeat the purpose of these types of cameras, their smaller size.

I suspect we'll see prototypes from Pentax both for FF and EVIL, but no releases.

My guess is to see a nice body with no confirmed releasedate yet.

I voted 25-54%. I think there is a hole in Pentax's lineup when you look at it from a size/features standpoint. I don't see anything from Pentax that competes directly with either Olympus E-P1 or Canon G11. And I think it's well within Pentax's power to do something like that, so I think there must be some chance.

I want to vote 52% but don't know whether I should be voting for 25-54% or 50-74%.

I voted 25-49% but I think its a hell of a lot closer to 25% than 49%

People seem to expect an evil more than a FF which may make sense as an economic argument but Pentax would have exactly the same lens lineup problem as it would have with FF only worse because at least some current Pentax lenses would work natively on a FF camera - Pentax would need an entirely new mount for an EVIL. Maybe you could get away with fewer, and more basic, lenses as launch lenses for an EVIL but even so.

Thats nice, but the registration distance hasn't changed, so there is still the issue with either needing a new lens line, which would mean not completing the present one, or else stick users with having to use K mount lenses, which would give absolutely no size advantage.
I absolutely don't understand this fetish about having Pentax make cameras that are crappier than the ones they make now.
