Pentax K100D Flash Failure

Hi !

I was taking quite a few pictures using the built in flash on my K100D yesterday when the flash simply stopped working. Afterwards when trying some test shots to get it going I heard something go POP !

I'm assuming theres a physical fault and it needs repair (unless anyone has any ideas) but is it going to be worth the cost of a repair or realistically should I be looking for a new camera body ?

I don't know the answer, but could you borrow a voltage-safe flash unit from someone you know or use a voltage-safe demonstrator at a camera shop to determine whether purchase of a new or used flash is an option?
Some such flash units are available for what i suspect is less than the cost of repairing your camera.

Thanks, yes I do have an AF280T and it still works with the camera, I will miss the convenience of the pop up.
