Anybody know of a accessory or fix for the K-x to add an autofocus assist light?

It bothers me that the k-x doesn't have an autofocus assist light so I'm wondering if there's an accessory of some sort so I can add this onto my camera.

you can attach flash, for instance AF-360FGZ, it can serve as AF assist light.

Well my flash assist on my Vivitar DF-383 doesn't reach that far and isn't as effective as a bright beam of light like onset other DSLR's. Even the Entry-Level Nikon D3000 has it. I need a workaround somehow because it's needed in low light (sometimes I don't use flash so the red assist lamp wouldn't apply in this case)

Manual focus in low light is a good alternative to AF assist.

+1. Strongly agree.

An alternative is to use a powerful torch to assist the AF.

Something what really could be usefull is this green laser, it can project a star pattern. (and only $10.76)

It seems that it isn't allowed in Australie and in the USA according to the text on DX.

Whatever assist you use will project something, or it won't work.

Pop up the flash before you autofocus, and then it uses it as the AF assist light, then after the AF confirm just put the flash down before you fire.

Easy and free

yes but in some cases it can be very striking when shooting people then some treaking flash is firing at them... (it can cause seizures btw)
