Can the K10 or K100 write to a USB 2 key?

I was wondering if anyone knew if either one of these cameras can write the shots to a USB 2 key instead of an SD memory card.
Since it has USB output (It does, doesn't it)if it could write to the USB key, wouldn't that be faster transfer rate?

thanks

randy

No, it can't. USB is a host/client connection, and both the camera and USB keys are clients.

What you can do, is get a USB holder that takes SD cards, then pop the card into the reader. I bought one for less than $10 and use it to pass files between computers. My laptop has a built-in SD card slot, so transfer rates are really good. I just hope that the SD card cover on the K10D is up to being opened and closed A LOT.

Certain USB devices can act as a host. There are some MP3 players that will do this, specifically so you can use it as external storage for cameras and such. The marketing phrase seems to be USB OTG (On The Go), but USB host is what it's more correctly called.
