How to do catch in focus with Kx and 55-300?

I have been trying to find a way to do catch-in focus (like it can be done with manual lenses) with 55-300. So far unsuccessful.

Can someone help me on how can I do that?. thanks

Hold down the lens release (the button you press to take the lens off) while holding the shutter button down. I find that the Johnny Cash finger (google it) on the lens release and the forefinger on the shutter release works best. This is true with Any lens that is not MF or without an AF/MF switch. BTW, Catch in Focus only works in AF-S and on the K7 anyway, you have to turn the feature on in the custom menu.
