while waiting for the next pentax body... kx does the job

came home today to find this miniature UAV on my front lawn.

started taking pictures with my mounted 18-250 but went back with the tamron 90 macro.

i still have to be reminded at the sharpness of this macro lens.

does man copy nature? certainly looks like it

Inspecting the "UAV"

Hell, YEAH! I'd say it's doing a very fine job and that the odds are of the next body being able to do any better is pretty slim.

That's a funky moth! I'm going to have to get a real macro lens someday. And I second your opinion of the K-x, it's still surprising me. From the K-x and Tamron 17-50 2.8

and a 100% crop:

nice. that 17-50 is plenty sharp.

i wonder how sigma's 17-50 would compare?
photozone's review was pretty good for the sigma and the tamron is no slouch either.

relax, it's harmless

it's a Luna Moth

they don't even have a mouth so they don't eat and don't bite or sting.

their life cycle is nowhere as long as DSLR's . only 2-3 weeks and they die

the shape looks like a B2 bomber, antenna's like a YAGI

but i must say, they're very pretty and mother nature has excellent design!

its the lens, stu...

As much as i like the KX, when are you guys going to realise the camera is a box holding a sensor. The lens does the work of getting fine details onto the sensor, not the camera as a whole.

In other words, you can get the same quailty pix with any good DSLR with the lens you are using. Praise the lens and the photographer's steady hands, not the box holding the lens!
