you read deep into my post The Kx is probably the best "entry" level camera sold right now, especially when they priced it right, the colour i;m not sure about lol
I sidestepped the color issue, just bought black, didn't really think about it.

I went with the white one, I find the Black/White combo of body and lens cool, and uncanny.

I don't think it's a coincidence given your avatar

If a Stormtrooper were to have a camera it would be the white Kx

Well it's pretty unanimously agreed on that the Kx has the best low light performance of the current entry level line across all brands, and it gives more (and much more) expensive models a good run for their money, so that covers your night shooting.
Id say the low light performance is best from all APS-C at the moment, agree on rest
what made me buy K-x? the sensor, small size and weight, AA batteries, 4,7 fps, 9 frames multiple exposure and KAF2 mount

I can't remember where I saw it but I think the D300s is the king of sensors right now, with the Kx being an extremely close second, which is an incredible feat given the price

Edit: this is wrong (see below)

May be the the comparison at DxOMark? - one has the choose the APS-C sensor format - otherwise the Full-Frames go to the top.

The APS-C ranking is actually D90, D5000 and then K-x - then D300S.

However if we look at the Nikon D5000 and ISO3200 crops from Imaging-Resource.com test images in the reviews of the Nikon D5000 and Pentax K-x -

I always look at the reviews on dpreview.com, section "raw noise", the graphs comparing it to D5000, EOS 500D and Oly 620 and it is clear then, that K-x is on par with D5000 till ISO 1600 and after that it is even much better, and the rest is uncomparable Pentax K-x Review: 15. Photographic tests (Noise): Digital Photography Review

and here is the new "compare" window, very usefull, you can compare different brands and user level cameras at diff. ISO levels and you can browse over the test shot as well, I advise to set it over the ladys face in top right corner, and you will see, for example, that colour reproduction in raw from D5000 is similar to D3, and K-xs colour reproduction is actually similar to D3S which I take as very good news Sony Alpha 390 Review: 4. Compared to: RAW: Digital Photography Review

the DxO mark: it is no wonder to see cameras with the same sensor ending up with nearly the same point count (D90 73, D5000 72, K-x 72)
and if you switch to "landscape" the K-x comes out as a third place (cannot compete with Fuji S3/S5 in dynamic range) in APS-C, even superior to D90 (both the same 12,5 EV) http://dxomark.com/index.php/en/Camera-Sensor/Sensor-rankings

now, after knowing much more then when I was buying the K-x, yet another reason to stick with Pentax is the lens coating About Super-Multi Coating (SMC)

The difference between the D5000 and K-x images at ISO3200 are stunning. I've read a lot about the great high ISO abilities of the K-x, but never seen the proof. Phenomenal! I'm going to be making very good use of that feature!

Wrong forum, buddy.

Not to mention people are incredibly biased against whatever they're not shooting with.

It's a problem but I've read many many posts in the photography forums by people with a wider view who can and do grapple with the issues of objectively comparing different offerings from a wide variety of companies. Yes it happens a lot!
