I'm looking for the Kit Carson Pass group but it's mighty elusive.

I believe they became snowbound and turned to cannibalism. Disbanded shortly afterward...

Actually with the K20D I'm usually the guy with the biggest camera unless someone has a Canon or Nikon FF with a grip. I inspired a "good lord!" from my D80 friend when I handed him the brick of a K20D with the A35-105 F3.5 attached, massive weight difference over his D80 with 18-300 (or some such) variable aperture Tamron.

I actually had a friend ask if I was trying to impress someone with that same A lens with rubber hood attached, then I pulled out the cheap tamron 70-300, attached the factory lens hood to it and extended it to 300mm. Its almost comical in its size at that point. Only the tasco telescope looking high speed super zooms have more novelty huge size.

The K1000 with the A70-210 F4 with built in hood extended definetely got some confused looks as well.

As far as recent fellow Pentax users, its been nada, and I don't mean the price guide.

I do get lots of respect from anyone that has been in photography awhile especially with the K1000, its amazing how many pros used a Pentax in their past and always remember it fondly. Actually its alarming how few of those people are holding Pentax cameras today, hmm.

I thought I could "inspire" some too, with my K20D + BG + 72mm filtered Tamron 28-300 + bounce flash when I shoot a friend's wedding the other day.. and yes, while massaging my arm, I inspired myself to push myself to save for K5

It's actually in Japanese but I think the point is the second image of the camera with the gigantic long lens.

This saturday I was sitting with my K-5 in shoulder bag at Copehagen Central Station in a train bound for Hamburg, Germany. In came a young backpacker, placed himself just beside me across the aisle and placed a good-looking camera on the table - - - - a K-5, in fact!

Now let's see: Two K-5s within a radius of 1.5 meters in a fully occupied train some 120 meters long and 3 meters wide......Can anyone do the statistical computations for me, please: How many K-5s were there on that train that Saturday morning?

Not less than two! There are limits to what statistics can tell one about the world and to push them to tell what theya re not saying leads to experiences that are consistent with Disraeli's aphorism: "There are lies, damned lies, and statistics."

Yeah, I got that, it's relevant to the other post. What I do not get is what the commercial itself wanted to show (except that Pentaxes are great).
