Full page Pentax ad in this month's Outdoor Photographer magazine, featuring soaking wet, rained on K-30, Optio WG-2 and Pentax binoculars. Looks like Ricoh marketing is starting to ramp up.
Did you notice that the cover shot this month was shot with a Pentax 6x7?

Yep. The big boys still use film sometimes, although I suspect he shot that years ago.

Been at Saturday in Design in Singapore on Saturday, and I have spotted one or two Sony, an Olympus OM-D (sexy!), a Leica and two Pentax. One storm trooper edition carried by a guy, and an attractive lady with a pink Pentax. Not sure which one

Not sure how rare we are, but ran into a friend today at the local camera shop... always knew he was into photography, but found out only today that he's a Pentax guy.

Was at Comic Con in NYC on Saturday. Never been to such a packed event at the Javitts Center. Cameras? Among DSLRs it was 70% Canon and a surprising 30% Nikon. Saw several Fuji and Sony advanced compacts. I was there from 10 AM to 7 PM and saw constant cameras all day long and didn't see a single Pentax.

Again this year at the California Photo Festival, I was the lone Pentax among nearly 200 participants. I did get a pretty good laugh out of Rob Sheppard and Rick Sammon with my "Yes, It's A Pentax" shirt.

Watching late night TV last night, switched over to an old Paul Newman movie called WUSA. Co-Star Anthony Perkins was featured wandering around the slums of New Orleans taking pictures with what looked like a Spotmatic and a Zebra Stripe short to mid Telephoto lens.

At least Pentax was getting product placement spots in 1970.

(Also interesting to note that the movie focuses on the shadowy figures behind the religious right, the beginnings of what we now see as the 'Tea Party Movement'?)

I was shooting the Ottawa zombie walk and I saw two photogs shooting Pentax. One guy actually came up to me first and made a comment about how I was shooting Pentax. We had a quick conversation on how rare we are. The other guy was dressed as Rick from The Walking Dead and had a Pentax in one hand and a revolver in the other.

I don't know which was more rare, the Pentax or a revolver in Canada! The combination has to be astronomically rare!

I was at a Halloween parade in a small town outside of STL and saw a stormtrooper white DSLR around someones neck walking in the parade. I couldn't quite tell what model it was, but I think it was the Kx as it had a matching white kit lens. I was sporting my stormtrooper white Kx w/ a Sigma 17-70 that day.

I went to Motorclassica on the weekend and while roaming around I took note of the cameras people had.

The majority were both Canon and Nikon (about even)

Only saw a couple of Pentaxes, one of which had a screw mount 135mm attached!

I also met a guy who noticed me using my ME and commented on still using film, he then went on about how he used to have one etc.

(i must admit, the old camera combined with my oldish looking camera bag helped when they were closing up and only teh car owners were to be in the area..... I think security thought I had retro gear to keep in character with a retro car... so I managed to stay on teh bood side of the barriers and take pictures of a lot of the cars as they left!)
