That's the Scottish version of the "infamous" quote.

No, no, no, that's not the right quote...the right quote is "I drink, therefore I am"

Actually I drink while I type. (at least I think I drink, but I could be a figment of my own imagination)

Who says men can't multi-task??

Back on topic.

I did a flash workshop last weekend, just a small gathering of 6 Canon shooters and me (including the instructor). I know the instructor well, and he knows I know my way around my Pentax gear, so he didn't try too hard to 'translate' Canonese for me. He'd say things like 'get out your 24-70 lens', and know I'd know that translated to my 16 - 50.

At least I outnumbered the Nikonites for a change.

Part two is this weekend, so we'll see if anyone with a camera and a yellow and black strap turns up.

Nice! you guys are the most I've ever seen pictured in one place.
In Sydney we manged to get 5 of us together in March but we got rained out (and would have been blown away) last month.

You all have Sirui Tripods too? (noticed because i am eyeing off an M-type or N-type at the moment)

Yeah, quite a few guys use Sirui Tripods 'cause they are light and cheap, come w/ 6 years warranty too I myself mainly use Gitzo GT1540, but I only carry the much smaller Sirui T-025 for travel.

That's something we really can show off in light rain

I've found that people do relate more to the camera. If I bring a DSLR with a big honking zoom, everyone is excited about the pictures to come.
When my daughter took her K5 on a school geography trip to Iceland last year, the teacher wanted a group photo so chose the camera with the biggest lens, they had fun fitting everyone in (and yes she was the only Pentax there... but also the only one who managed to take a photo from inside a waterfall)

Last week, I saw a young (Japanese) gal with a K01 standing in line at the Musee d'Orsey in Paris. She seemed to be really enjoying taking pictures of her boyfriend.

Saw a Pentaxian in the wild (well, in Denver anyway) today -- skulking around Fishback Park between the Aquarium and REI by the trolley tracks next to the river. Was it you?

Flora and I spent a week in a cabin at Fort Mountain State Park here in Georgia. I shot landscapes, trillium blooms, and the elusive ladyslipper, a gorgeous native orchid, rare and properly listed as such. Few cameras of any sort in evidence; the ranger did have some sort of Nikon.

We also went to the Tennessee Aquarium, in nearby Chattanooga. This is a wonderful place! We like it better than the Georgia Aquarium in nearby Atlanta. Lots of cell phone shooters with their ridiculous "shutter sound." As I prepared to shoot what looked like a Christmas cactus on steriods, an older gentleman approached, we chatted. He was using a Kodak digital P&S and having trouble finding extra batteries for it. I suggested B&H and Adorama and NewEgg. He notice the name on my K 5 and said he'd had a film Pentax with extra lenses, etc, and had "about 5,000 slides" at home.

But why oh why did he go Kodak??

In the last two months I have "produced" 4 new Pentaxians in Costa Rica! Got two friends to buy a K 30, another fell in love with my K20D and bought it from me and the last one did the same but with my Pentax Q!

Yesterday I was at Beijing Botanical Garden for 5-6 hours, not a single Pentaxian
Except me with my K-30, wife with her Q10, zanthapia with his two K-5 and his fiance with her MX-1...
I really thought we would see at least one other Pentaxian there, but no no.
