About the cellphones, for whoever is interested:
Samsung, Apple Or Nokia: What?s The Most Popular Brand Of Mobile Phones In Your Country? [Map]

I myself have a Nokia, but it is company issued...
I cannot find something similar for DSLRs unfortunately.
But I guess it is harder to draw up, because you should also include Mirrorless, etc...

A few weeks back we had a wedding reception and the official photographer had a pentax! Was working so couldn't stop to have a chat. Would have loved to have ogled his gear though.
He must not have been a serious photographer

Spied a K5 in the hands of a visitor to my workplace yesterday. Had just a moment to chat him up, and he said he loved the camera, and one of the best things about it was the fact that he could use his older lenses with it. We shared a smirk before going our separate ways.

Met a young Pentaxian today.

Asked if I am holding a K3 in my hand. No, not yet - I replied

Had a K-r with the kit lens. That is exactly what I started with!

Just convinced a friend of mine to get a Q7 for his trip to Venice. His mother-in-law is also getting a WG3 or 4 for her scuba trip. It's not much, but hopefully it spreads.

Have converted two novices in the past 2 weeks (and a third about 6months ago). Another is on the way. The gateway seems to be the MX-1.

I tried to push the MX1, but he did his own research and landed on the Q.

Very nice... even my mother was considering that one, but she went with the MX-1 (actually picked up an X20 as well, but opted for the Pentax )

I had another experience yesterday of Pentax shooters being in the majority.

Small shoot, just me, two others and the host. I was in 'travel light mode' so only had the K-3 with me and not the backup K-5 body, but still there were 2 other K-5's at the shoot! So we had three shooters, 1 Nikon, 1 canon and 3 Pentaxes!!

It must be an Aussie thing, but Pentax seems to be not nearly so rare around the places I hang out.

I've read stories about the phenomenal service quality that the Australian distributor does. That probably has a lot to do with it.
