It is no surprise that Nikon is doing well with all this promotional gigs. See this. BTY, I am not trying to make anyone here to purchase any NIkon goods at all.

Have a great day.

Slight offtopic, but.. I wonder where does all the Pentax refurb gear goes? Haven't seen any of it anywhere for sale.

There was that big sale in Denver last year...but sounds like it goes back to Japan for the most part...

Kind of an awkward thing to do, when all the competitors offer an opportunity to buy refurb gear.
Well, but I'm no business guru, they probably know what they are doing

We are rarer than a doctor who can't stand the sight of blood Then a lawyer who can't stand the sight of money.

Last Sunday I attended a protest march against the new Australian Governments Budget and out of the 10,000 people that were there I saw only one Pentax camera, a K30. 99% were using Canikon (including me). I also saw a few Lumix and one Leica.

I recently rented a house in Savannah, GA. When we first looked it at while the previous tenants were still here, there was a red K-30 sitting there on a table. House went from one Pentax shooter to another...

At a medieval fayre (Blacktown Sydney NSW) this morning

About 50% Canon

About 25% Nikon

The rest split between various decent fixed lens cameras, an Olympus a Sony and a guy with a k20 and a k5(?) - he said "the rest don't know what they are missing"

One of the performers was most adamant NO NIKON shooter to take his photo, Canon only! Oh and Pentax was ok too :-)

A friend of mine asked me for advice choosing his first camera. Having in mind that he studies in the USAF in Colorado and prefers to spend his time very active, I instantly told him to get the K30 + 18-135mm.

He just told me that it is one of the best things he has ever bought and the WR is fantastic

It wasn't me, so there must have been at least three of us in Pittsburgh at that moment!

We'll have to count my brother as a Pentaxian as well. He has not upgraded to a dSLR yet, but he has my father's Spotmatic and all a large assortment of Takumar lenses. He also has his old K-1000 and lenses for it. I loaned him my K20D to go to an airshow, gave him a brief tutorial on how it works, and took over 4 GB's worth of pictures!

4 GB, cute. My record with the K-5 was almost 48 GB in 2 hours. Video really fills the cards fast...

Saw a black K-30 in the local park yesterday -- a man and his daughter taking a bike ride. I literally did a double take but there it was, that distinctive K-30 dimpling and overhang on the prism housing, then the name on the hood.
