I was lucky enough to see a 645D on my trip in the rain. My red k-x and lens fogged up in Tracy Arm, but I was lucky enough to have another Pentaxian lend my his Sigma 120-400mm.
Sounds like a wonderful trip to some beautiful areas!

Alaska was more relaxing - Cruise ship from San Francisco to Alaska.
BC was a lot of driving. Fortunately, the speed limit is 120km/h near Kelowna

I was yesterday in Thessaloniki and in stark contrast to Berlin I have seen just a handful of DSLRs, one of which was a Pentax. I feel bad for myself as the girl carrying it must have thought I was a weirdo for staring at her bust intensively. Well, maybe I am but for completely different reason. It was, surprisingly, a K100DS with kit lens.

The camera of the day was pocketable POS P&S. I'd say roughly 70% P&S vs 30% phones, DSLR/bridge negligible.

What's fortunate about having to drive so slow?

Its fortunate, that I was able to do 140, and unlike places in Ontario - which are 80-90km/h the roads were in decent shape.

Formercanuck, my husband's family lives in Kelowna and we currently live in SoCal. Be sure to wave when you run into me one of these days - scrawny Thai woman behind a K-5IIs and likely a FA 77.

Kelowna was nice....its like Canada's Lake Tahoe + Arizona's Lake Havasu. Its not easy to find a place like Kelowna's City Park.

Wonder of wonders! I spotted a Pentax whilst out shooting Trains at a local railway station. The guy was probably around 60-65 so its likely that he's been a Pentax shooter for some years. Didn't get the model but was glad to see it.

We Pentaxians are really thin on the ground here in the UK.

We went to the High Museum in Atlanta for the Dream Car exhibit. Some amazing cars! Some gorgeous, some grotesque. Lots of folks, lots of cell phone cameras, tablets, a few P&S. I saw two Canon and one Nikon DSLRs. Only one of the three were using lens shades! What is it with Canikon folks? No Pentax, but why should that surprise me? I do wish the museum would light the show more brightly....and furnish a convenient white balance target!

I was at the Lemay America's Car Museum this last winter and was wishing the same thing. A hand-held shot at reasonable ISO was difficult to do and tripods were (IIRC) forbidden.

Went to another Airshow yesterday... saw lots and lots of large, Canon L glass, lots of Nikon systems.... no Pentax... beyond my own. Still have yet to see a single other Pentax camera out in the 'wild.'

That said, it was the first time to use the K-5 II and DA 55-300 WR together at an airshow.. results were rather nice after I figured out how to address the crazy focusing issues with the 55-300. Enough light that even in shutter priority at 1/400 to 1/500th of a second, it would stick around f/8 aperture so sharp images. The K-5 II munched through two 16GB SD cards like nothing in Hi burst mode.. Glad I brought the 2nd card haha.
