And, "to add injury to insult", I've had more than one non-Pentax shooter remark to me (and my Pentax gear) with something like "Oh, I think my father [etc.] used to have a Pentax camera."

:-(
Or for guys my age... we hear, "oh ya, my first camera was a Pentax." Of the remaining camera companies, Pentax has probably done a worse job of capitalizing on brand loyalty than anyone else. And most of the ones who were worse, are out of business.

When illustrating this lack the videographer shot a closeup of the Reporter's LCD screen and what did it inadvertently show?

In a few years maybe we can say:
"We used Pentax after and before it was cool."

To be honest, I do not care that much about market shares, other than having a wide range of lenses and accessories available for sale.

And being different than all the others has a certain "elite" flair to it.

In the end, most important for me is, that I have found a camera I like to shoot with and that I can use the same lenses on my 78 vintage MX and the modern K50.
Being able to get into interesting photo gear discussions with random strangers is just a nice side effect.

And really, what else is there? I'm still tickled pink my wife picked up a used F 70-210 for 35 bucks that as long as you don't try and use it with a TC is a great lens. You can buy new expensive stuff if you want.. but you absolutely don't have to.

Maybe he just got finished securing the camera to his tripod and is now getting ready to remove the lens cap and flip the lens hood around?
(I hope...)

On Model Mayhem photography forum there was one of the regular Nikon vs Canon bitch fights going on and I was most gratified to see how often Pentax was mentioned in a positive way. That never happened 12 or even 6 months ago.

Normally in Australia I do see Pentaxes even though they are sparse amongst the Canikons. I have been traveling in France for the last 3 weeks and seen thousands of Canons and Nikons a lot of Sonys and even Olympuses and Panasonics but I've only ever seen 2 Pentaxes and they were both mine.

Think how lonely any one with a phase one or blad must feel 😤 in all thes public places.

Bet they don't give dam anymore than I do if I am the only person with a Pentax. What I do like is that it puts me in the same class as the P1 or blad owner.
