Abruzzi - The photographer in Red flannel is the close. The pose needs bend the front leg where the shin would be just slightly out of vertical in front of the knee. The torso would be inline with the rear leg, stretched out as far as possible. The neck and head are pushed as forward as possible with the camera to the eye (DSLR's don't ya know) and the hands on top of the lens (good sized zooms).
Also, there was the production of obtaining the pose, heads were loosened up (like Danny Glover in the Lethal Weapon movies), commands were said to the other people in the group. Strike the basic pose, bring the camera quickly to the eye, wobble a bit from side to side take one image. Stand up straight, go through the same process, but move your feet a bit laterally to change the view (move left or right). When done, let the other person (standing right behind you) do the same thing to get the same shot. The second person shot at least five frames per "capture". The pictures were of buildings - nothing was moving on the buildings - go figure.
I moved away after two people did this because it is really rude to laugh out loud at people in a public square. Although the looks on other people in the crowd were pretty interesting too. I have included a very crude drawing of the "pose" just to clear things up. And to be honest, I am sure that some people wondered Whiskey Tango Foxtrot I was doing when I was taking pictures too.
