Just converted two people to Pentax. One at the camera club, and one colleague, they both got the K-5, and both are very happy

There was a recent public building dedication I attended. I saw several Canons, a few less Nikons and surprisingly 3 Pentax! Not bad for a town of 12,000.

I shoot Kx and climb too... I reckon a lot of the climbing community would be on the K5 for it's weathersealing if only they knew about it...

Agreed... Even down at the gym the level of chalk dust can be extreme

Ran into a Pentaxian at the airport a couple days ago. One of only 2 that I've seen in the year of so of working there. He was shooting a k20, but said he had a k100 and kx at home.

I live in a tourist town, and I so see some little japanese dudes running around with pentax cameras (it's mostly nikon though). There's only one camera shop in town that actually sells pentax though. Everywhere else is canikon/panasonic, so that store is the only one worth going to.

I had a discussion with my brother in law about this last February. His take is that we don't see too much in the way of Pentax commercials, as opposed to Nikon and Canon. Personally, I've owned two small P&S Pentax cameras, and each gave me the most excellent vibrancy and sharp details. When I finally decided to kick it up a notch, I went for the X70. the DSLRs are still a little too far out of my range. When I do finally make that leap into SLRs, you can bet it will be a Pentax.

Part of the reason we are so rare is because we are the ones that know the truth about Pentax lenses and the mounting system.

When ever you talk to somebody that is using a Nikon or Canon, ask them if they can put a screw mount lens on there cameras. When they look at you funny, just look back and say,I can, and walk away.

Pentax...the only camera that can use ALL the Lenses ever made.

Maybe Pentax/Ricoh should use that as a sales pitch?
