Yeah, quite a few guys use Sirui Tripods 'cause they are light and cheap, come w/ 6 years warranty too I myself mainly use Gitzo GT1540, but I only carry the much smaller Sirui T-025 for travel.
That's something we really can show off in light rain
There two types of photographers, those that have Pentax, and those that have Pentax Envy.

As much as I love Pentax, most of my friends wonder why I don't have a Canon or Nikon DSLR. Pentax's UK marketing sucks, is it any different overseas?

Yep, it's different here in Oz.

It has to exist before it can suck; as there is no marketing at all down here, we cannot judge how bad it is.

Here in the states the bottom line must be great because they aren't wasting any money in advertising.

I have been to 2 CSI schools here in Texas & so far I am the only pentax user. The teacher is a Canon lover and did acknowlede that my Pentax was just as good as his canon or the nikons in class, just different but would preform well. During the class I discovered the auto bracketing mode & showed him, his answer" was neat wish I had that". At my other schools I have not seen any Pentax's there. I did spot one the other day at a senior prom picture session at a local courthouse. So even if we are a minority I don't care ( with film I was an Olympus fan).

I did a one day class for basic digital imaging. The teacher (me) has the only Pentax out of 15 students. About 8 DSLR (mostly Canon, 2 Nikon), some advanced P&S and the rest simple P&S cameras.

I keep hoping the students see me with my Pentax and ask themselves, "what does he know that I don't know"!

Regards,

I'm sure I'm one of the few here in Arkansas that has one. Mine is to be delivered today - K-30w/WR lens in white. Just in time for Memorial Day weekend and our vacation to the Smokey Mountains in June.

I went to a birthday party in chucke cheese and a lady keeps on looking at my camera (k5 with 16-50 and D-BG4), maybe out of curiosity she approaches me and ask questions about the camera, she said she's a film major but she have not heard of the Pentax brand.

Saw a Pentax strap at least, getting on a coach tour here in Inverness!

Does that count?

A 'film major' and never hard of Pentax? That sounds unlikely to me.

Did you ever consider that maybe she was really checking YOU out and not the camera?
