Hmm ... strange, I had the impression that most Pentax sales are in Japan. More units sold than in the rest of the world.
I'm sure they do sell more Pentax in Japan than in the rest of the world, but I hardly ever see them. I go to a lot of car shows, movie festivals, shoot lots of stuff around Tokyo, but almost never see Pentax.

I remember travelling on the ferry back from Miyajima Island. There were atleast a dozen people carrying white K50's. Which ended up being part of the reason i bought Pentax

Brought my wife and daughter to the National Zoo in Washington DC the other day and saw a guy with what looked like a green KX. In passing, I told him I liked his camera. My wife and daughter were moving quickly and I had to keep up so that's all I got to say. When I looked back I could see him eyeing me nervously and keeping a tight grip on his camera. I held my K-30 up and he flashed a big smile. Was a fun and unexpected interaction. I love living near DC but, it's the kind of place a lot of people like to show off their toys (Nikons and Canons).

At Niagara Falls on Friday. By far the most popular picture taking device was, unsurprisingly, a smartphone: selfie sticks much in evidence. Of the DSLRs I saw, all were Canon or Nikon. Saw a Sony MILC or two, and a few bridge cameras. No sign of a Pentax anywhere.

The Canadian side - though I'm sure the boat strayed into USA territorial waters
