We should start a pentax religion, maybe we would stop paying tax on our pentax gear.

What do you mean "start". I've been worshiping Pentax for over 40 years!

The camera club I belong to has a rotating chair schedule and I am scheduled to chair the meeting Thursday this week. I am giving a presentation on Pentax. I'm taking all 7 of my Pentax cameras and a good mix of old and new lenses. This will be the first meeting where Pentax has been highlighted. I'm not just a user, I'm also an enabler!

The really interesting thing about this is all the research I did on Pentax and its history was very enjoyable to me, I learned a lot about Asahi Corp and Takumar developing the SMC still used today, the origins of Pentax in 1919 as Asahi Kogaku Goshi Kaisha, a small shop that made spectacle lenses. Their work through WW2 making optics and other equipment for the Imperial Army, and where the name Pentax actually comes from. I was completely unaware of much of the history of Pentax.

YES!!! I finally spotted my first one in the wild.

Not sure what model as I didn't want to stare rudely and my eyesight isn't as good as it once was, but it was with an Asian tourist in Canberra city precinct and he was taking lots of pics.

If you are reading this, have a great time here.

Spotted on a recent BBC programme about RAF pilots (Fairford Air Display 2015). I'm pretty sure it's a K-3; not so sure about the lens, but I think a 60-250 mm f4.

On tonight's episode of Bones I spotted a Pentax! I had to pause it and grab a quick shot.

You can't really see it too well but there's a green ring on that lens!

And the hood is on correctly. Some prop person was actually on the ball.

I saw my first Pentax K-s1 in the wild yesterday - at a talk that happened to be in a church.

Yeah, the great Betty White's guest appearance has already got its own thread.

Unfortunately, from the screen shot there she was trying to take a picture with the Exposure Compensation button.

And, at a balloon festival outside Melbourne the other evening, briefly met a very nice gentleman amongst the Canikon crowd with a Sigma 70-200 on a Pentax.

His wife was a Nikon shooter. Who says mixed marriages can't work?
