How useful is the....

Pentax K-AC76U AC Adapter Kit

Is this something that is handy to have, or just an over priced power chord from Pentax?

If you are going to do tethered shooting (which only the K10d and K20d do), and I mean hours on hours, or interval shooting for a LONG period of time, I could see having one. Otherwise, the money is better spent in a couple of spare batteries.

+1. I thought the K-7 could also.

I use my K20D AC adapter through a DC-AC inverter stuck in my car's cigarette lighter socket for those -20 and colder long night exposures. Works great.

Nope. I never used tethering very much so it doesn't bother me but I was surprised they stripped it out of their 'pro' camera. Maybe in anticipation of hoping to push people to the $10k 645d for the feature (not me).
