Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there anything that can be done to fix this, or do I just need to edit it out in pp? Thanks.
The only thing to correct it is to get a new sensor.

Most RAW processors will recognize hot or stuck pixels and auto clone them out.

I have also noticed that the smaller the aperture, the worse the dust specs appear. By the time I get to f/16-f/22 and use a macro lens, all I can see is dust :P

A pixel mapping function is built into most cameras. It is either in the setup or custom menu. I don't remember which at the moment. Just run it, dead/hot pixel should be gone then. Dirt will always show up black.

Actually for awhile I thought YOU were the original poster. He may be busy, asked and answered on another forum, or figured it out for himself, or read the responses without responding. Happens all the time.

Just to follow up, I did the pixel mapping and it worked. Red spot in pictures is completely gone! Thanks for the tip.
