K-7 in see through body.

Has anyone seen this video?

It has a Pentax K-7 + Battery Grip with a see through all around body...

How amazing does that look!?

The clear body does look rad, but it sacrifices weather proofing and the magnesium shell.

Maybe on a K-x though...

I was just thinking the same thing. "Clear" is about the only color of the spectrum Pentax has not released.

Hmmm... I think that the transparent K7 that was shown on that video clip was specially made just for exhibit purpose only. So that the audience may come to see the inside parts of the camera.
Anyway, a clear type body for other Pentax model would be nice.

pentax has a long history of clear cameras at trade shows.

They've even made them available as dealer displays in the past. Every once in a while one shows up on eBay and always sells for a lot. About a year ago, a set of four, including an Auto 110, an ME Super (I think) and two others that I don't remember. It went for way more than I could afford.

A clear/transparent body would sell like hot cakes! It will be so novel and cool. I think weather sealing and magnesium shell has nothing to do with a clear external plastic casing.

Transparant models are generally part of the development process, under polarized light the placess of high stress are easy to spot, and appropriate design changes can be made.

But the new camera from Pantex is even getting mentioned more in this video. Our favorite camera manufacturer is slipping in ranks again.
I wonder if I can use 40 year old, inexpensive manual lenses on this Pantex digital camera.

And that shorter model acts like she has never even seen a camera before by the way she is holding it.
Just a little funny to me.
