Mine is consistently one bar out, but now I'm used to the error so its still useful. I'd still rather have it than not have it.

I agree, before latest FW upgrade I felt it was off just a tad.

I am actually very skeptical of how the firmware may have made it more accurate as it must be a calibration issue more than anything else.

Level is not levelled

Hello all,

unfortunately my experience is a little worse that of many here.

Although I really did the best to level the camera, I did not achieve to get it even, even with a tripod.

I had to correct all my pictures for almost 0,7 - 1,3 deg.

I have to check that out more intensive again, but my impression is not so positive for now. Thanks God this is a feature not needed too often

Regards from Germany
Georg

Ditto.

Whenever I buy a dSLR, I figure sending it in for adjustment and calibration is part of the bargain.
Of course it would simply be much better if Pentax just did the calibration before packing it up and shipping it to stores.

Yeah, but I understand the price pressure. Making it user-adjustable would be a good compromise. In fact, I'll be surprised and a little disappointed if the K-5 doesn't offer this.

I hope they do. I don't see why they couldn't at least toss in a small program for a quick calibration.
