focusing screen

anyone here ever changed one? I've got a friend with a GX-10 that needs to clean some dust that got up under the screen. How difficult would this be?

Hi "SLC"

The 'link' below may be of some use to you:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/9603-need-some-hel...rrect-way.html

Follow the first post by Deni (07-16-2007, 10:02 AM) and click on the highlighted blue "this", where it says: "Hope this helps".

Then scroll down the posts until you come to some photos, which should help to illustrate matters. Although the camera in question is a K100D, I believe that the K10D/GX-10 are fairly similar in this respect ?

Best regards
Richard

Hi SLC Flyfishing it is quite simple to change or take out and clean focus screens but beware DO NOT USE ANY ALCOHOL BASED CLEANER as it will make the plastic go cloudy I speak from experience just use water
Heres a link on cleaning Katzeye screens but this applies to pentax screens also
cleaning - KatzEyeOptics.com

And their instaltion guide with good pics

Thanks for all the help guys! My friend is in England and I'm in the USA so we email back and forth about all things Pentax.

He's brand new to DSLR photography and I walked him through removing his focusing screen and cleaning it. Thanks to your help it was a success.

Thanks again

SLC
