Perhaps by inventing their own naming convention?
Perhaps by some sort of higher math where they can fit more numbers into a 4 number place setting?
The industry standard is XXXX-####. How are they supposed to get more than a 4 digit # out of this?
Think about it for just a moment before you answer.
Every computer geek knows that answer to that one. Hexadecimal, or base-16 numbering. That way, the numbers go from 0001 to FFFF (65,535 in base-10).
You could easily use base-36, using digits 0-9 and A - Z, which would take you to 1,679,616.
