Thanks, but is it SDv2 or v3? Reason I ask is that SDvX.X is the firmware version in the K20d that works the SDHC cards. If its v2 it only allows the slower SDHC cards, v3 the faster ones.

SO, I dont want to waste $$ a Class 10 SDHC card if the k20d is at v2, since it will only work at a class 4 or 6 speed. Its like the USB 1.0 vs USB 2.0 in the computer world

As far as I know, only SDXC cards are based on the new SD 3.0 standard. Though I think as SDHC will fill continue the gap as it mature for some time to come.
And then there is always the possibility of a firmware update too. Though I doubt it would invoke a performance upgrade, I suspect they will be able to maintain compatibility the the new format as was seen with SD/SDHC.

AFAIK, even if it did support V3, its hardware doesn't write that fast...

I'd buy it if it's not much more though...the next body probably will support V3....

I use some Transcend Class 10 16GB cards and all is fine in the k20d firmware v 1.04. My other cards are all Sandisk Extreme III 20/30MB and I can't tell any difference but have not tried to stopwatch a buffer full. Does it work? Yes.

Thanks Lee, yes they will work, just wont get the speed. The class 10 wont go any faster than the class 4 if its not SDv3. Or as kenyee said, the hardware doesnt support the transfer rate of the class 10.
