Also I would not base your decision too heavily on the video option - none of these cameras are going to do video really well. The biggest problem will be sound - to get any decent sound you are going to need an external microphone, which is a hastle for traveling. The video option is really nice, but I think of it as sort of an extra for fun feature. Also, what makes the Nikon D3000 video any better than the K-X's?
I don't have a video capable SLR, so I am not one to comment. My friend takes amazing videos with his Canon 5D.... but that's a whole other world, where he is living
