The last thing I want to do is start yet another thread about another rumor about another camera.....but this is interesting and gives you something to look at
while you postulate, promulgate and prognosticate the next, new offerings from our Pentaxian Rulers.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the images of the "K1" are fake. The camera being shown is the 5 year old MZ-D prototype that preceded the ist*D. IIRC, it was a 4MP FF Kodak sensor, based on the MZ-S body. They abandoned it in favor of the ist*D .

HAHAHHAHahaaa...

That is hilarious. It's just really sad that pentax has wasted so much money scrapping idea's left and right. Pentax needs a good forward minded business man. It just seems like they come to every work and toy everyday.

Huh?
This was Pentax's first DSLR prototype. The body itself was pretty good. The sensor it was designed around was overtaken by new technology, before the camera could be further developed.

I would not mind seeing a DSLR based on a MZ-S. That was a hell of a nice body.

I'd venture to say that if you visited the engineering labs of any of the DSLR makers you'd find all sorts of goofball ideas that never saw the light of day. Pentax is hardly unique there.
