I wonder if this is the beginning of your friend's lust for photography and her desire to grow will only increase from here.

Coz in that sense, the D90 path has a more solid roadmap of growth. But I guess I'm getting ahead of myself.

I don't exactly see her hitting a brick wall because she started off with an entry level Pentax. The vast majority of people find the system caters for everything they'll ever need (and I bet the majority of users never get further than the two kit lenses).

However some people decide they want FF or extremely fast AF. Maybe this is only 1% of DLSR users (but probably a higher percentage of the users who participate in online forums and tend to create a rather skewed perspective).
