A few from this morning. Skies were pretty dark in the early AM with SQM (Sky Quality Meter) readings around 21.6 mags/sq-arc-sec at the zenith.

Pentax K-5 IIs and Samyang 16mm f/2

90 Seconds @ f/2.4 ISO 1600

These are awesome. I'm jealous, I never get to see such a beautiful night sky around here. Thanks for sharing!

I was out for 4 hours last night. From 1:30AM until 5:30 AM hoping to capture some Eta Aquarid meteors.
I saw one, brilliant, with a really nice trail at 5AM. The peak is reported to be tonight.
Here's the Milky Way, earlier. I'm not efficient with my PP capabilities, but I've read that the public prefers unrealistic sky images.

Fantastic pics everyone! I see some from Mackay too!

Unusually lousy weather here in Mackay for winter, but last night I actually got some sky time. This will be one of the parting pics for my old Pentax K-x as I've just purchased a K-5. Details are M20 the Trifid Nebula, Skywatcher ED100 at F7.2, 84 x 1 minute frames unguided on a SW HEQ5 pro. Bigger at astrobin. M20 Trifid Nebula (Kevin) | AstroBin

You have done many great astrophotos with the K-01 - and now these with the K-5IIs!

How do you rate the two cameras, relatively speaking?

The silver dollar galaxy NGC253. 220 sub exposures from 30 seconds to a minute taken over two nights a month apart. Telescopes used were a 6 inch F5 Newtonian and SW ED100 refractor at F7.2. Stacked in DSS, combined and processed in Photoshop. Pentax K-x.

Bigger at Astrobin. NGC253 (Kevin) | AstroBin
