Upgrading my K-X

What should I get? K-7 or K-R? The K-R just released, so i guess new features... And it's in the middle of K-X and K-7. Any suggestions?

Is there a particular reason you want to 'upgrade'?

Well it's good for Pentax bussiness if you upgrade. The K-r is not that different from the K-x. So my 2 cents are: go for the K-5 or take a different coloured K-r (other then your K-x).

Why do you feel the need to upgrade? Unless you have a good idea what you want to improve it is hard to answer that question. The k-r and K-7 are very different cameras at very different points of their life cycle.

You should make a list of what you want to do that the k-x does not before you decide which to upgrade to.

Personally I have not seen anything in the k-r specs that would make me upgrade from my k-x. It appears to be a better and more feature rich camera but not enough different for me to change from the k-x.

I am interested in seeing what the k-5 has to offer but still probably will not upgrade until the next generation comes out, maybe October 2011?

As other fellow members said. Why do you need to upgrade? Is there anything you can't do using the K-x? K-5 is a better camera than the K-x if you care for WR, two LCDs, etc, otherwise invest in glass so you can take more advantage of your K-X. IMO.

Well... IDK if its really an upgrade, but my friend wants to buy my camera for close to the price as i bought it for...

I just snooped around for the K-5 just now... When is it's release date? I might just start saving up now and then sell my K-X then go with the K-5...

The reason why you want/need to upgrade would sway the argument one way or another, but I do think your options should be either the K7 or K5 because the Kr is too similar to the Kx for the extra $ in my opinion. If you have the $ then I would suggest the K5 because I love the low light capabilities of my Kx and would not trade it for a K7 specifically because of that reason (unless the deal was amazing) so if the K5 is as good as the Kx >3200 ISO then I would go that route.

But if you cannot afford it or if you do not care that much for low light capabilities then get the K7.

What do you want to get out of your next camera? What did you dislike about the K-x (if anything)? Do you want something the same size as the k-x with slightly better performance and a few extra features, or are you ready for a larger camera with a weather resistant body and pro level features? What kind of photos are you taking - social party snaps or artisitic landscapes?

Answer these questions and the decision will be much clearer for you.

K-r looks pretty cool, but it also costs more then the k-x. although I like the new featrues of the k-r having given it a quick look, when of the points that led me to bite on the k-x was the price.

I love my K-X. Nothing wrong with it. But I just want a bulkier camera, and the K-7 or K-5 seem to fit my wants. Specially the water proofing seal that's a plus for me. My K-X just feels like a toy sometimes compared to the other brands i've used and tested. So far the K-5 is what I have my cross hair on. The batteries on K-5 and the dual SD card sounds really cool and if it comes out with a WR lens kit then i'm more on the K-5 side now... and if the K-5 comes out with a batterygrip, then the better because it's pretty much like the K-7 but only better...

idk if you guys are getting what i mean... I'm feelin kinda sick while i typed this.
