Not really news or a rumor- moving this to DSLR discussion. Nice post!

How would then Ferrari or Porsche stack up against Toyota or Ford? If I take your words strictly, "unfortunately underperforming" would be correct it seems.

The same question I got asked by a colleague after mentioning I have Wharfedale speakers. Errr... what's that?

Still, I like the sound of my Wharfedales, I like shooting with my Pentax(es) (MX, DS, K10D), and I would not mind driving a 911 at all. All "unfortunate underperformers" by terms of market share, but quite good performers by any other standard which is all that really matters to me.
#1: CaNikon aren't Ferrari and Porsche
#2: It depends which Ford. Mustang Saleen, Ford GT (that one still makes Ferrari et al. piss their pants)

Off topic. I'm glad at least somebody still have confidence in american cars.
On topic: it's my way, k-x is the one for me, i use the Force to keep away LBA or CBA. I don't need to upgrade since i'm not making money out of photography.

Again I will reiterate, this is not entirely a Pentax Vs Nikon thread. This is a performance/function vs feeling thread. It could apply to any camera A vs camera B.
Charlie, I think everyone can understand why you reach for the D300 in the dark. But we also think your soul is tainted and you need to send me your cameras!!!
I am interested if you ever had anything lower than the PZ-1p, or any completely manual cameras before going AF.
I started completely AF and went to manual for a little while, I found the whole thing liberation and relaxing. It made me think more about the shot and savor the experience at the time more.
Steelski, my first camera was a Minolta SRT MCII given to me by my grandfather in 1982. I shot that camera until 1996 when it was stolen (along with all of my equipment) when someone broke into my house. It was with that camera I fell in love with photography. The theft depressed me enough that I did not shot a photo with anything other than my wife's kodak until 2002 when my dad bought me a Minolta SRT 101 at an estate auction. At that point I jumped back in with both feet. It was also at that time I turned 40 and my eyes stopped working like they did twenty years before and I started waisting alot of film due to my inability to focus well. My first autofocus camera was the Nikon D50. I do know what you mean when you stated that using a manual focus camera can be liberating. I still shoot film and did not mention in my first post that I still have a Minolta SRT 201 as well as an Olympus OM-PC. Here in the United States some of the best places to get old camera equipment are Pawn Shops. I paid 80.00 for the Olympus with 5 lenses and around 50.00 for the Minolta. I dread the day when everyone stops making film.

My English is good because I lived in the UK for 18 years before moving back home. But thanks never the less.
