I'm just waiting to see how low the prices go before buying a 2nd K7.

True, as Pentax drops the price on new K7 it will push the price down on used K7 bodies.

However I'm not sure that Pentax has to cut the price of new K7 models that much in the beginning as the price of a new K5 high. Some people might choose to buy a new K7 for around $700 vs a new K5 for twice that amount at $1400.
It is also about the K-r and K-x, 4 bodies to complicated for an average sales rep, to my opinion price will have to guide buyers to help Pentax get ride off their K-7's...

If you buy all then the pricing might even go up, you might make good money on them!!!

The price of the K7 (over here) plummeted from it's opening price - I can purchase (If I wanted) for R 10 000 - remembering it's opening price was R 17 000!

It can be said also for the Canon 50D which can't even be bought (new) anymore over here.

A slightly used one R 7500! An absolute bargain

I don't think that K-7 price will go down a lot. K-5 is priced too high for used K-7 to drop it's price to $500. IMHO $650-$700.

same assessment. not to mention buying one for $700 is already a great deal.

anyway, the potential people that would mostly buy the K-5 are:

1.> new Pentax inductees that have the money to buy the latest camera Pentax could offer.

2.> people who has not acquired the K-7 yet.

3.> people that sold their old cameras from let's say K10D, K20D, K-7, k-x.

4.> people that are into sports photography.

5.> people who mostly shoot at night or requires High ISO.

if you are a person who doesn't really need the HigH ISO that much and not into sports photography, then the K-7 would be fine and the better choice. it's practical and makes sense.
