First RAW image for me

Ok, I have been reading here and studying up on DSLRs since I got my *istDS on Saturday (thanks Nick). I decided to try out doing some images in RAW format and some in .jpg. Well, the RAW in this case looked better in my eye, and even after converting them, the jpg looked better than the ones I took as jpegs. I am anxious for the Tamron 75-300mm I ordered to get here!

Well, I am still very new at this, but wanted to share my first decent picture with you all.

Thanks!

I also like the converted RAW images a lot better than the JPG version of the same image. Nice pictures you have there.

Nice photo. One of the reasons I started with raw was the white balance.
I took a lot of photos yesterday at a school performce. They used all different coloured spotlights and two different white lights. Boy was I glad that I used raw. To pick the WB was impossible and it was great to be able to change it in the raw converter.

Cheers

"Me too! Me too!"

Once I blew few hundred birthday shots which happened to be very psychedelic because of mixed tungsten/fluorescent light. I had to spend too much time saving them as good as I could. From that day on I saved myself future hassle and went RAW all the way. Never looked back.

Raw is the way to go. More rooms to "save" photographs

Eddie,

Good move!!

Now comes the task of selecting the proper RAW workflow solution.

I'll plug SilkyPix....... SILKYPIX Developer Studio

As I always do............. with humble apologies to all the ACR fans.

Chuck
