Makes a difference

Two shots....(1) using my newly purchase but ancient SMC Pentax M ZOOM 35 - 70mm 1:2.8 to 1:3.5, ($45 on eBay) and (2) using a somewhat old (but nowhere near as old as the Pentax) Sigma ZOOM 28 - 80mm f/3.5 - 5.6 ($85 at a camera shop). Slight sharpening on the Pentax, double the sharpening on the Sigma. No changes in contrast brightness etc.

Old glass is good....

I'm not sure if this is a case of old = good or Pentaxis better than Sigma.

It's not that I's knocking Sigma, as I have 2 of their recient (APO) zooms and find them exceptional, but that is now, not the past.
