Need K100D Super opinions (AF speed)

Hi all K100D Super owners (sorry only the Super owners)
I am looking into getting a Super for Night game photography since it has SDM and ISO 3200 and lower noise than my K10D's (Yes I know I own 2) And was wondering how is the AF on it. Is it at least equal to the *ist-D? I need something that is atleast as good in AF peformance to my aging D's for friday-night-lights where I require ISO 3200 At F2.8 and still only get about 1/200sec shutter
My K10D's are great, and I do push them up to ISO 3200 in RAW, but its still not as good as my older D's for noise.
I dont need the MP either since its only for newspaper print.
thanks all

I'm surprised that you see that much difference between your K10D and old D's? I had the istd and k100d and when I downsize the K10D image I don't see much difference, especially after a little bit of noise reduction.

I'm assuming the K100D and the Super have the exact same autofocus, and for that I don't know how good it will be at ISO3200 - 2.8 - 1/200th. The K10D was a big improvement in very dark conditions over the K100D.

OK, a couple things. I like having a "native" ISO 3200, and in my D's I could even push it a little more when I shot RAW (And for sports that was brutal having only a 6 frame buffer, and 45sec to clear it) I know the K100D has a slightly smaller RAW buffer, but also will clear it in like 15-20sec. with a high speed card.

I dont always shoot jpg for sports but I like the option, and I can't do that with the K10D at ISO 3200 (since it does not have it)
And though I would love to say the K10D's I have are better in everything over my D's its not true. I do notice a little more noise at ISO 1600 in it than the D and at 3200 (RAW-pushed) Its def. not as good, usable, but not as good as the old D's I have.

The K10D rocks in AF speed, and I know AF is slower in the K100D, but if its as good as the D speed I would be happy so I could have "native" ISO 3200, SR, and SDM support. And another body (Can never have too many bodies I have found... This spring I was down to only 2 (a D and DS) from 4 (1 K10D, 1DS, 2 D's), and got a second K10 than)

And of course If I got a K100D Super I would invest in a grip (I like the Makeall (Dicain-like) better, but would use the Ownuser one if needed)

As I understand it, when used with non-rechargeable lithium batteries, the K100D isn't much if at all slower than the K10D. And that actually may be better for a second body, since you know it's always ready to go.

Brendan,

I'm not a "Super" user ;-) but I think AF driving speed with SDM is more lens dependent except for the AF sensing and calculation parts which the K100D (and nor any Pentax DSLRs) could ever impress me.

In fact, if you think the *ist D's AF performance at low light is acceptable, I think the K100D/Super should meet your requirement.
